Kilimanjaro has landed

The big day is finally here when 23 Tesco trekkers will embark on the journey of a lifetime. The team will fly out on 23 February to take on the largest peak in Africa where they will climb to an altitude of 5,895 meters to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer Scotland Tesco Charity of the Year partnership.

It’s an amazing way to finish the 1 year partnership, but the brave team need all the encouragement they can get. Especially on summit night when they will have to endure temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius, while struggling with extremely low levels of oxygen and high levels of exhaustion.

You can show your support by sponsoring the intrepid explorers. Simply visit the team Justgiving page at

“We are due to reach the summit on the final day of the Tesco Charity of the Year partnership. It will be a fantastic way to celebrate an amazing year and it is be an honour for me to represent Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer Scotland for this challenge. I am proud to be leading such an inspirational group of fundraisers.”   Nick Scott, Alzheimer’s Society
